Michael Sobell House, the hospice at Mount Vernon Hospital, Northwood are very grateful to the staff, regulars and visitors to The Crown Public House in Harmondsworth who have raised the superb sum of £700 for patient care. The money was raised in fortnightly quizzes, held on Wednesday evenings, costing just £1 to enter. These popular events are always well attended and include a raffle. Additionally, every Wednesday and Saturday a ‘bonus ball’ competition is held.
The Crown’s Charities Committee support a wide range of local non- contributory registered Charities and Michael Sobell House, on this occasion, were chosen to receive support.
We would like to thank in particular Geoff Coughlin, landlord (also of The Wheatsheaf, Harlington), Ian and Hayley, Managers at The Crown, and Colin Willmott and his merry men Taz, Kevin Sawyer and Gerry (and others) for their help with the organisation of The Crown’s fundraising events.
