On Friday June 1st Watford based Informatiq Consulting Ltd and ERS held their 2007 Charity Summer Ball at 'The Noke' Thistle Hotel near St. Albans with Michael Sobell House, the hospice and palliative care centre based at Mount Vernon Hospital, Northwood benefiting from their fundraising efforts.
Employees enjoyed a night of glamorous entertainment and had a lot of fun whilst raising money for their chosen worthy cause.

The night kicked-off in earnest with professional bands and DJs providing the entertainment. Party goers were sustained with buffet style cuisine to keep their energy levels high. In between the musical entertainment the gathered were able to join in raffles, games and auctions - with great prizes to be won. As the party swung on late into the night, everyone had a ball!

This was a fund raising effort on behalf of Michael Sobell House who provide specialist care to patients with cancer and other life limiting diseases.
This event is just one of the many hosted by the company’s charity committee, formed by members of local recruitment companies who joined forces to raise money for local charities on an ongoing basis.

On this occasion over £2,500 was raised for Michael Sobell House bringing the total raised by Informatiq Consulting Ltd and ERS for patient care at the hospice to over £7,500 since Michael Sobell House was adopted as the company’s Charity of the Year in 2006.

Paula Gilroy of the charity committee said, "We are pleased to have been able to help such a worthwhile cause as Michael Sobell House. Our employees and friends had a great night and we really appreciate all of the donations and support we were given by both our colleagues and local organisations to maximise our fundraising efforts and to ensure the event was a success."Geraint Hughes with employees of Informatiq & ERS

As well as the hard work of the charity committee and the support of their employers, these events can only happen with the assistance of local companies who provide sponsorship in the way of donation of services and products.

Geraint Hughes, Corporate and Trusts fundraiser, Friends of Michael Sobell House said, ”A huge thank you to the charity committee and employees of Informatiq and ERS for their fantastic efforts to raise funds for patient care at the hospice. The money raised helps us to continue the very special care we provide for our patients, their families and carers.”
