Michael Sobell Radios put on a Fun Fashion Show in January and raised over £1,000.
Mary Niven, a long time volunteer, saw the need for personal radios with pillow speakers at Michael Sobell House to help the inpatients pass the time listening to their favourite radio programmes. Very quickly she was supported by Pat Parsons, Hilary Croft, and Alan Jenkins, to take the idea forward, raise funds and set up the project.
A friend of Mary’s, Cindy Waite offered to run the fashion show at the Michael Sobell Centre, promoting Optionelle, a new fashion house from Canada.
It was an enormous success in so many ways, reconnecting the community and raising money for such a good cause.
