Pictured below are Nick Kumar and Chris Sills who together completed the 56 mile long London to Brighton bike ride on June 17th 2007. They set a time of a little over 5 hours in which to complete the event. Their fundraising objective was to raise money for Michael Sobell House Palliative Care Centre, on the Mount Vernon Hospital Site, Middlesex to assist with the badly needed refurbishment of the chairs in the in-patient and day care parts of the Hospice.
Nick Kumar’s sister Sateya Devi was diagnosed with cancer ten years ago aged 46 and she spent some time in Michael Sobell House before sadly passing away through this awful disease .
Michael Sobell House, like so many hospices, survive on our generosity through donations and sponsored events to help improve the quality of life for patients with life limiting diseases.
We would like to thank everybody who sponsored us and with the money we have raised we hope to make it possible for all the chairs that Michael Sobell House’s patients use to be refurbished.
