Tuesday 14th March, Steve Grudgings gratefully accepted
a cheque on behalf of the Friends for an amazing £5,000
raised by the members of the Northwood Round Table.
Tony Bendall, Chairman of the Northwood Round Table
nominated The Friends of Michael Sobell House as his
chosen charity and is seen here presenting Steve(pictured
left) with the cheque.
Tony Bendall writes “We at Northwood Round Table
have spent the year raising funds in various ways, but
the biggest push was concentrated around our annual
Golf day held in Bushey. We have around 100 golfers
on the day with great golf, smashing food, an auction
of donated goods and anything else we can muster. We
also spent around 10 evenings before Christmas pounding
the streets collecting door to door on established routes
around Northwood, Rickmansworth and Eastcote with a
Christmas float with Carols playing and Santa waving!”.
“I am delighted that the donation I secured for
you as my nominated charity this year amounted to such
a substantial amount; I'm sure this will have a very
positive impact on your great cause”.
