On Sunday 9th September, the Friends of Michael Sobell House held its inaugural “on your bike for care” sponsored bike ride.
As the morning dawned we had 36 rides pre-registered to do either the 23 mile or the 12 mile rides. By the time the ride was to start 107 people set off. Ophelia Chambers-Henry said “It was brilliant that so many people arrived to register on the morning, their was a lovely atmosphere and the volunteers on the registration desk did a wonderful job to get everybody ready for the 10am start”.
The Friends of Michael Sobell House believe that the event will raise over £5,000 for Michael Sobell House hospice for patient care. We would like to thank in particular the Community Cycling Fund for London, the Royal Mail, Elthorne- Hillingdon Rotary Club, Action Bikes Ruislip, Chapels Estate Agents and Hillingdon Community police for their support and last but certainly not least, all who took part in the event to make it such a success”.
