The
Ruislip Belles And Beaux handbell ringing team gave
our Day Centre patients a tuneful treat when they visited
us on Wednesday March 8th, playing a lovely collection
of pieces. The group raised the considerable sum of
£700 during 2005 for Michael Sobell House and
Mrs Joy Burkett on behalf of the group presented a cheque
to Mrs Amina Barker. We are very grateful indeed for
their wonderful support.
Members of the group Joy Burkett and and Freda Pinner
have both worked in our Ruislip Hospice shop since 2002
and prior to this Joy was a volunteer driver for the
Day Centre for 17 years, leaving so that she could look
after her daughter who was recovering from surgery.
Freda worked for a period during 1994 in the office
at Michael Sobell House, but unfortunately had to leave
due to health problems.
Joy and Freda said that they both really enjoy their
work in our Ruislip shop, appreciating the friendly
atmosphere engendered by the manager Mrs Jo Davies and
fellow volunteers alike.
