Michael Sobell House is proud to be joining the International Voices for Hospices bi-annual event, by hosting ‘Clash of the Choirs’ a choral competition, in the Rowland Brown Hall at St. Helen’s Senior Girls School, Northwood on Saturday 10th October 2009.

Harrow Harmony was formed in 1999 by Hilary Musgrave and several enthusiastic members of her ‘Singing for Starters’, choral course for beginners run under the auspices of Harrow Choral Society.  Many wished to continue singing after the course ended so were keen to create a new choir which now numbers over sixty-five.

From the initial idea of encouraging women who wanted to sing to come along and enjoy performing, the group has developed in to community choir, now 20 strong, the group performs locally in Rickmansworth and takes part in the Ealing ‘Sangastevne’ festival each year.

The choirs will perform a diverse range of music from popular songs such as ‘Lean on Me’, ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow’ and ‘Don’t Stop Me Know, to choral classics such as ‘Christus Factus Est and ‘Hallelujah Chorus (Messiah)’, so this will be a really exciting event for all the family.  Don’t miss out on the vocal revelry, buy your tickets now priced £12.00, telephone 01923 844 152 or e-mail ochambers@michaellsobellhouse.co.uk.  All monies from tickets will be donated directly to patient care at Michael Sobell House Hospice.   This is a very popular event so buy now to avoid disappointment.
